He was never very good at holding down a relationship. Like de-tuned ghosts, his shortcomings scratched and clawed into his pores; blackening the skin and eroding the cleanliness from this mornings shower. It came in five month coughing fits, and for every second he spent questioning why, he could never place a finger on the tip of his problem. Like an iceberg, he showed little, but was discretely being jarred and gutted from within.
Work had dragged today. He'd spent most of his time jotting down insecurities on the notebook he kept at his office. Page after page of self-doubt, fake smiling
